Long Runs, Short Runs!

As Rock 'n' Roll Madrid Marathon is getting closer and closer I figured I better get in some more long runs and 10-20-30 training :-)

On Wednesday I ran another half marathon! I did a route that I had run while training for Copenhagen Marathon 2011. I ran all the way up to Langelinie which is where the cruise ships dock. I went all the way to the end, round the little red lighthouse thing and then home again.

I ran slower this time and even though it was still a hard run (well it was only 9 days since my last half marathon) it was easier than the last one! I ran it in around 2 hours and 15 minutes so was 8 minutes slower.

Today it has been so sunny! Spring is on the way :-)
I was going to do so 10-20-30 training this evening but really wanted to get out into the sun.

So I decided to do my training on the way to pick up my youngest from nursery.

It went well and it was great to run in the sun again :-)

3 Weeks until Valencia!

This time in 3 weeks I will be on my way to Valencia!

I am really looking forward to my trip down there for many reasons...

I get to go somewhere I haven't been before.

I get to spend a few days with my beautiful niece Leah.

I get to enjoy some warmer weather.

And I'LL BE RUNNING VALENCIA MARATHON :-)

I'm running my long pre marathon run this Sunday. I've signed up for a half marathon and the start/finish is 3k from my home so I'll run there and back. That means I'll be running roughly 27k!

I'll be taking it easy during the marathon and am going for a time of 4 hours and 30 minutes which is 15 minutes less than my Copenhagen Marathon time. It just means that I have to run a tiny bit faster, not stop so long for the toilet, and walk through the drinking stations for about 40 seconds each instead of a minute :-)

Berlin Marathon 2012 will be another matter as I'm going to try and get under 4 hours!

Socialmarathon 2010

I've signed up to run a half marathon on 31st December 2010!!!

It's the Socialmarathon which is run on Amager. You can run a full marathon or half a marathon. I'm not ready for a marathon but this seemed to be the best half marathon over winter.

Any profits go to the children and youth programme at Rigshopsitalet (hospital) and to a polio vaccination programme.

We will wish everyone we meet a happy new year and all runners no matter the distance they are running will finish together. So I will have a lot of support to make it over the finish line :)

Have a look at the website for more details at http://www.socialmarathon.dk/
