New Personal Record in a 5k Race!

So there is a new personal record achieved yesterday in a 5k race that was held in Copenhagen!

It's not mine but my son Latimer :-) He ran the 5k in 26 minutes and 27 seconds! Not bad for an 8 year old!!

He loves running and likes to join me sometimes. I also think he enjoyed running much faster than me today but is too nice to say so! He was actually over a minute faster than my personal best in a 5k!

I finished in 28 minutes and 3 seconds. Hey I did run a marathon 10 days ago!!

It must be great to be able to run with him.

    1. It's fantastic! We used to run races together but I guess he's too fast to actually run the whole route with me now :-)

  2. So you have been beaten by an 8 years old kid? Well, we need to find a remedy for that. Perhaps some interval training on your weekly running diet will bring your ego back.

    1. Yeah yeah I know 'beaten by a kid'.

5k isn't really my distance though...I like 10k and marathon distance best :-)

    1. Latimer would have a choice of representing Denmark or England in that case as his dad is Danish and I'm English!

I would love for him to be a competitive runner but if he only wants to run for fun that is just fine with me :-)

  6. Hi Lynne.
First at all, thanks for your comments in my blog.
Related your son, uffffff, perhaps you have one future professional runner at home :-)).
About you, don't worry for the speed, the secret it's not how fast we can run, the secret it's I want to continue run for..................time.

For me running is all about having fun and if I happen to get a new personal record that's just an added bonus :-)
